Why Marram?

(pronounced MARE-um)

Marram Health Center is named after marram grass that grows along the shores of Lake Michigan. Marram roots grow deep into the sand. They form a strong network of roots that anchor the plant. 

The roots stabilize the sand and help create dunes, where other plants can grow.
